Dr. Ngwenya currently provides leadership to the CIS faculty and oversees the Cyber Defense Curriculum path at Parker University. Dr. Themba Ngwenya is also a permanent full-time associate professor, and Co-Director of the Cyber Defense Center.

Background

He has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field with positions ranging from Network Design & Performance Engineer to Cyber Security Consultant and Solutions Architect. Dr. Ngwenya earned his Doctorate in Computer Science from Colorado Springs, CO and his professional interests focus on Education & Knowledge Transfer, Cybersecurity, Emerging Media technologies and Virtual Worlds, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, the next generation networks, architectures and solutions, i.e. Virtualization, Cloud and Heterogeneous based network solutions, Big Data Modeling and Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Structures and Algorithms.  His current projects include setting up a skills lab and startup incubator for the CIS program at Parker University and various research projects in the field of cyber security. Dr. Themba annually participates in conferences such as Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education (VWBPE).  He has published a book chapter titled ‘Future Identities of The Self Among Learners Across Physical and Virtual Spaces’.

Roxanne Kemp oversees the Cyber Defense Center and is the Point of Contact. Mrs. Kemp is also the Dean of Online & General Education Programs at Parker University.

Background

Since embarking on a career in education in 2008, Mrs. Kemp has served as an academic coordinator, campus director, director of supplemental education programs, instructional design consultant, general education program director, director of online education, dean of online and general education programs, English teacher, art teacher, psychology professor, and general education faculty. Before entering the field of education, Mrs. Kemp worked as a sales executive and marketing consultant for various organizations including: Dell Computers, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Trend Micro, Lexmark, Cave & Cheney, and Data Base Marketing Group. Prior, Mrs. Kemp served in the United States Army Signal Corps and as an administrative assistant to several battalion and brigade sr. leaders in 3rd Signal Brigade, III Corps in Fort Hood, TX. Mrs Kemp received her B.S. (magna cum laude) and M.S. degrees from Tarleton State University, completed an 18hr graduate Educational Leadership program for K-12 Principal preparation at Stephen F. Austin University, and she is currently a Ph.D. candidate with Capella University. Mrs. Kemp is also a certified Blackboard Learn administrator and has recently completed an accessibility certification program through the Texas Distance Learning Association (TXDLA).
