Welcome to the Cyber Defense Center!
Parker University offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) with concentrations in Cybersecurity and Healthcare Cybersecurity. To further enhance cyber defense related resources for Parker University students & staff and the community we serve, The CIS & Online Education department has established the Cyber Defense Center (CDC). The CDC is hosted in the Computer Information Systems Department of the College of Business & Technology and was founded by Roxanne Kemp, the Dean of Online Education and Dr. Themba Ngwenya, the Director for the Computer Information Systems program.
The mission of the CDC is to provide educational research and service activities in cyber security, information assurance, and in the legal aspects of computing. Additionally, the CDC aims to educate all members of our university and community on what each one of us can do to ensure we all have the resources we need to stay safer and more secure online. The research activities of the CDC are closely aligned with the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CD) Education (CAE-CDE) program requirements. CDC collaborates with other institutions and organizations to allow our students and community the opportunity to participate in a variety of events including competitions and cyber related activities.
